De Ruijter
Nobody does Dutch sandwich spreads like De Ruijter. A bread decorator since 1860, the company's sprinkles, chocolate flakes and mashed mice are the Netherlands' favourite. Founded by Cornelis Rutgerus de Ruijter, he opened his first bakery in the Brinkstraat in Baarn, where he first sold muisjes (mice), a traditional Dutch bread topping. De Ruijter's spreads are so good King Willem III appointed De Ruijter as a purveyor to the court in 1883 with a royal designation in 1985.
